How do you get to see one of our Paediatricians

The first step to see our paediatricians is to obtain a referral from your GP. We work collaboratively with all GP practices in the region.

What happens next?

On receipt of the referral we will make contact with both your GP and yourself, by text or email. You will also receive an email invitation to access our patient portal, clinic to cloud, which you can use to access your child's medical record and make or change appointments.  If you have forgotten log in deails for patient portal you can reset your password. (https://trust.clinictocloud.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/232260148-Resetting-Your-Password)

Providing additional information

Occasionally we may request additional information prior the appointment about your child from previous health providers, allied health professionals, your school and other agencies involved in your child's life (NDIS). For this reason we would ask you to sign a release of information disclosure (please see documents below)

Additional information can be uploaded using the patient portal. (https://trust.clinictocloud.com.au/hc/en-us/articles/360001450436-Managing-Uploaded-Documents)

Initial appointment- Video Consult at home

An initial appointment by video will be offered with yourself at home using award winning telehealth platform coviu (http://www.coviu.com/). Prior to the appointment you might be ask to complete a questionnaire with your concerns and priorities (please download pdf file below). Purpose of initial appointment is to explore your child's strengths and difficulties, obtain relevant background information, then make recommendations for assessments and a number of interventions to support your child. Depending on circumstances, a review appointment would be arranged by video, either at home, with your GP or with school. Face to Face appointments are also available during outreach visits nearer to your home or if you are willing to travel in our rooms in Townsville / Brisbane. For details about cost of video or face to face consults please see our fees page

Joint Video Consult with Parents / Teachers at school

Our paediatricians work closely with many schools to improve sharing information and facilitate assessments and optimise support for your child. You will be invited to a joint video consult with the school's Guidance officer or Learning Support Coordinator. If you prefer not to share information with school, you are more entitled to do so, we will not contact the school without your consent.
